Got questions? We have the answers.
Does your prenatal contain folate?
Yes it does! Our Key Essentials prenatal includes folate in the form of folinic acid. This is an activated form of folate that all women can absorb whether or not they have an MTHFR genetic variation.
How often should I be taking prenatal vitamins?
Take one capsule of our Prenatal Vitamins twice per day with a main meal for optim alabsorption or consult with your healthcare professional.
When should I start taking a prenatal multivitamin?
Generally, you should start taking prenatal supplements and prenatal vitamins 1-3 months before you start trying to conceive, or as advised by your health care provider.
Taking prenatal vitamins like Perdays Key Essentials & DHA earlier helps build up your stores of key nutrients like folate, iron, zinc, and iodine. This ensures you and your baby are nourished in the earliest days of pregnancy (yes, even before you get that positive pregnancy test!).
This is also when your body’s demands for micronutrients like folate and iodine must be met to ensure the healthy development of your little one!
Already pregnant? No worries! It is recommended to start on a prenatal multivitamin right away, it’s not too late to start nurturing you and your baby!
How long should I take a prenatal for?
You should always consult with your healthcare professionals. You may start taking our prenatal vitamins 1-3 months before you start trying to conceive and continue throughout pregnancy and while breastfeeding your baby.
Can I take prenatal vitamins if I am breastfeeding?
Please consult with your healthcare professionals. Perdays Key Essentials & DHA is designed to support your preconception and pregnancy health.
How do I switch prenatal multivitamin brands?
You should always consult with your healthcare professionals. You can switch by start taking your Perdays Key Essentials & DHA, 1 capsule twice per day, instead of your old prenatal multi-vitamin, it is best not suggested to mix two different prenatal multi-vitamins, unless advised by your healthcare professionals.
Can taking a prenatal vitamin help me get pregnant faster?
Getting pregnant is complex, and there are many individual factors at play that are best evaluated by your healthcare team.
Plus, you’ll feel comforted knowing that you are supporting a healthy pregnancy from day 1.
Why does your prenatal contain folinic acid? How is this different from folic acid?
Folic acid comes in many forms, and they all work differently in the body. Folic acid found in many prenatal supplements requires specific enzymes
to break down the folic acid for it to be activated.
However,1 in 3 women are incapable of producing these enzymes to break down the folic acid and therefore are unable to receive the benefits of this crucial nutrient. We have included folinic acid (a pre-activated form of folic acid) to ensure that this nutrient is bioavailable for all women.
According to leading health bodies, around 25% of the population is predicted to have a difference in the genetic makeup of the enzyme responsible for activating folate, which may impact your folate status.
So, no matter your genetic makeup, you can nurture yourself and your little one from day one with Perdays Key Essentials with DHA.
Of course, if you’re unsure about what form of folate is right for you, consult with your healthcare provider.
I am vegetarian / vegan. Is Perdays Pregnancy Key Essential & DHA suitable for me?
Yes, our ingredients and capsules are vegetarian AND vegan friendly!
